Captured September 2026. This is the church's own site, shown so the client can be verified. It is not Imperial's work. This engagement was funding strategy, and the site's building-project and funders pages are the church's own account of it.

The challenge

A church had identified real facility needs: safety and security work, a roof, and HVAC. Those are three different cost categories, and funders treat them differently. Some routes fund historic fabric but not mechanical plant. Some are loans or incentives rather than grants. Some restrict what may be done to the property afterwards, or exclude religious use of the space entirely.

Applying without establishing that first risks spending months on an application the organization was never eligible to make.

What we did and delivered

Work performed

  • Funding research across federal, state and private routes relevant to the project categories.
  • Qualification of the organization and the project against each route's published eligibility.
  • Readiness documentation, assembling the records and governance material an application requests.
  • Grant strategy and writing.
  • SAM.gov and Grants.gov support where a route required it.
  • Donor and fundraising support alongside the grant routes.

Deliverables

  • A readiness checklist with an item, the reason it is needed, an owner, a status and a next action.
  • A capital-funding qualification framework separating the cost categories from the routes that fund them.
  • Application material for the routes taken forward.

The outcome

We got the church ready to apply, worked out which routes actually covered their building work, and wrote the applications.

We are not telling you they got the money, and the roof is not fixed yet. Funders decide funding. What we decide is whether an application deserves to win one.

Evidence: Our project records. We have left out the church's finances, its security arrangements, its account records and any funder conversation that is not already public.
